Why iWed?• Our two packages are simple and complete, with no hourly rates or time constraints for you to worry about.
• Service you can be sure is dedicated solely to covering your event with no other commitments on your day. • Angela and I genuinely care about the job we do for you, we enjoy what we do, and we want to be there. • You will not see any of those humungous shoulder-mount cameras at your wedding. • Shaky camera work is not acceptable to us. We are not perfect but we do take care to avoid shaky framing whenever possible. • In terms of style, we place more emphasis on human nature (feelings/emotion) than mother nature (flowers/scenery). • Complete reception coverage. You’ll see (and hear) large segments of your entire reception that continues through to your last dance. • You’ll get more video with iWed. • Lifetime backup of your video! • We can do it all: Uplighting, Monograms, Engagement Reels, Movie Edits, Same-Day Edits, Trash The Dress, etc., see A’ La Carte for details. Will you be our videographer? If you choose iWed you will see us on your wedding day. We won’t double-book your date and there’s no fine print in the contract stating that “Ralph from Super-8 Video” can shoot in our absence. We take to heart the incredible trust couples place in us on one of the most important days of their life, and likewise have a feeling of commitment in return that exceeds anything written on paper.
What’s the big deal about lighting?Uplighting may be one of the most cost-effective enhancements you can make to your reception’s decor. Our uplighting (for several reasons) is the best type of you’ll find (see lighting page for details). The effect can range from very subtle to prominent and colorful, according to your preference. You will pay less for uplighting with iWed and we back that up with a price-match guarantee.
We don’t have a Blu-ray player, why bother getting the Blu-ray package? If prudence is your guide, your decision is based on the player you will own in the future. And if you choose the Blu-ray package, you haven’t forfeited owning the DVD because both are included. Finally, let’s not overlook the fact that your wedding day will look awesome in high definition!
Can we get the raw video?Yes, we include it …and because we shoot with multiple cameras, we select the best angle for you and incorporate the professionally captured audio for the best possible viewing experience.
How far do you travel? We have not confined ourselves to a travel area but generally we prefer shoot within a 100 mile radius of Manchester, NH. For venue locations beyond 50 miles there is a very reasonable rate for travel.
We live out of state, is it ok for us to reserve our date now and meet with you later?Yes, and this scenario is actually quite common. You also have the option to consult over the phone and forgo the visit entirely. In addition to the phone consultation, there is a short questionnaire that accompanies this option.
How much is the deposit? Do you accept credit cards?500 / yes
If you hit the lottery will you still shoot our wedding?I reserve the right to re-locate iWed to one of the Caribbean islands if I hit the jackpot, but I promise we will not shirk on our commitment to shoot your wedding!
What kind of cameras do you use?We prefer the Canon SLR cameras which give us the capability to shoot full-HD video with myriad of professional photography lenses – and these are the same cameras that are favored overwhelmingly now by world-renowned wedding videographers. But with regard to equipment, I actually consider the specific make/model of camera to be less significant than all the other supporting gear like lenses, stabilizers, slides, stands, tripods, microphones etc.. And more significant than those things are the skill and technique behind the cameras. A camera won’t be responsible for a great video to any degree more than a paintbrush could be responsible for a great painting.
What time will you arrive? The exact timing is something we carefully coordinate in the days leading up to the wedding, but typically 45-60 minutes prior to the time you plan to put on your wedding dress.
Are we supposed to provide a meal for you?Meal requirements are not in the contract. But I have to warn you, Angela and I work very hard and a couple hours after the emergency Granola Bars wear off we start dreaming about food.
Will you interview my guests?Since the word ‘interview’ implies a question/answer session, no. We refer to what we do as the ‘Guest Congrats’ and that’s different because we allow your guests to contribute their own comments/congratulations (voluntarily) without prompting them with questions. Simply put, our approach is to ‘keep it real’ and throughout the years we’ve captured some incredible sentiment/excitement from family and friends that may have never been shared if we hadn’t given people the opportunity on-camera.
Do you stay for the whole reception?Yes. Angela and I have frequently captured some of the most incredible moments of the day in the final hour of the reception, and we want to be there for you. Throughout the prior 10 years and nearly 300 weddings, we have always included complete reception coverage in every package. Thankfully, the concept that my time is so much more valuable than yours on one of the happiest days of your life, has always eluded me.
What do you wear?I like to wear a yellow raincoat and hat, similar to the Gorton’s Fisherman. Angela is fond of hot pink and bright beachy colors that make her stand out in the crowd – but for weddings our dress-code is all-black, professional attire. ☺
What if someone swears on-camera?We request your input on this topic in advance of the wedding in order to give you a choice about how it can be edited or not edited. Absent your input I use ‘commonsense without heavy censorship.’
Who picks the music?More often than not clients are content with the decision to choose a genre of music, which allows the specific music selection to be perfectly inspired by the video captured on their day. Or you can pick the music. But when if you ask me before the wedding if a particular song is the right one, it’s a bit selecting a movie soundtrack in advance of the script.
Can I get photos from video? As your videographer, my directive is video acquisition and video production only. Apart from that, due to technical reasons (shutter speeds and resolution), individual video frames from a video are not suitable for printing except under ideal conditions.
How long will it take to receive our videos? Our delivery is very reliable at 6-8 weeks on average.
Can we order extra copies?Yes. This is an item in our A’ La Carte section. And with iWed, a lifetime backup is included with any package, which means there is no expiration for re-ordering. You can even re-order years from now after the movers pack your video in a box, and then you arrive at your destination and can’t find the box. Tell me that’s never happened! ☺
